Soke Dick Morris sadly passed in 2019. He was the founder of Jiu-Jitsu International
Sensei Ibush trains with Kyoshi Steve McDade and Soke Jim Mcdade at Total Self Defence in North London
Soke Dick Morris was invited along to the club to award Steve McDade with his 8th Dan and to award Jim McDade with his 10th Dan.
After the presentation, Soke Dick Morris spent an hour or so demonstrating some of his favourite techniques.
It was a fantastic evening a truly a great honour to have the opportunity of spending time with the founding father of Jiu-Jitsu in the UK!

Who is Soke Dick Morris?
Soke Richard Morris 10th Dan Jiu-Jitsu (Dick Morris to those that trained with him) founder of Jiu-Jitsu International and previously a founding member of WJJF with Bob Clark and director of the BJJA. A huge influence on everyone’s Ju-Jitsu training from the seventies onwards.
Of course, he was active long before that as a leader in the World Ju-Jitsu Federation and has helped establish many facilities for the promotion of genuine martial arts.
He is widely recognised as being one of the founding fathers of modern Jiu-Jitsu in the UK
