Mixed-sex grappling & groundwork
MMA is a close-contact grappling martial art. Training can involve grabbing, pushing, headlocks, strangles, chokes and wrapping the legs around the upper or lower torso.
Training may be mixed-sex. By taking part, the student confirms that they understand and accept that close-quarter combat, grappling and groundwork form part of the training.
Children: attendance & punctuality
The club is responsible for a child only during the scheduled training session. A parent or guardian remains responsible immediately before the class begins and immediately after it finishes.
Please arrive in good time for collection. The club cannot provide supervision before or after the lesson.
Adults: attendance & punctuality
Please arrive in good time and allow enough time to prepare for training. Late arrival can disrupt instruction and the other students taking part.
Payments & cancellations
Monthly membership is paid in advance by Direct Debit on the first day of each calendar month. Monthly payments are non-refundable.
Students whose payments or fees are overdue may not train until the balance has been paid. Membership cancellations require 30 days’ notice by email.
Bank holidays
The club is normally closed on bank-holiday Mondays. No refund is given for a session that falls on a bank-holiday Monday.
Conduct & discipline

Image consent
The club may take photographs or video of students performing martial arts for promotional and advertising purposes. Appropriate material may be edited and distributed through media selected by the club.
By accepting these terms, permission is granted for the student’s image, likeness and voice to be recorded and used without payment. Material will be stored securely and made available to the student or parent to view on request.
Personal belongings
The club cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost or stolen during training. Students are strongly advised to leave valuables at home.
If a child or parent needs to make contact during a session, the instructor will have access to a telephone.
